Terms of Service

The deal, in plain words.

Last updated: July 2026

Inkwell is a small, quiet place for people to write. By creating an account or publishing here, you agree to these terms. We've kept them short and honest — please read them.

1.Who can use Inkwell

You must be at least 13 years old to use Inkwell. If you're under 18, you may only use it with the permission and supervision of a parent or legal guardian. By using Inkwell you confirm this is true.

2.Your account

You're responsible for your account and for keeping your password safe. Don't share your login, and let us know if you think someone else has access. You can delete your account at any time from Settings — doing so permanently removes your profile, your published pieces, and your saved collection.

3.Your words stay yours

You keep full ownership and copyright of everything you write on Inkwell. We don't claim it, sell it, or train machine-learning models on it.

To actually show your writing to readers, you grant Inkwell a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, display and distribute your pieces within the service (including in feeds, on profile pages, and in the share-image cards you choose to generate). This licence ends when you delete the piece or your account — except for copies that may briefly remain in backups or that others have already downloaded or shared.

4.What you publish

You're responsible for what you post, and you confirm it's yours to publish. Everything on Inkwell must follow our Community Guidelines. In short: no hate, harassment, threats, sexualisation of minors, unlawful content, or spam.

Inkwell is for human writing. Pieces that appear machine-generated may be marked “AI” so readers know. Passing off AI-written text as your own undivided work is against the spirit of this place.

5.Moderation & removal

Every published piece is checked automatically before it goes live, and reported pieces are reviewed by a human. We may remove content, or suspend or delete accounts, that break these terms or the guidelines — we'll try to be fair, and we act fastest on anything that could harm a real person.

6.Inkwell is provided “as is”

Inkwell is a passion project run on a small budget. We work hard to keep it available and your writing safe, but we can't promise it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or permanent. It's provided “as is,” without warranties of any kind. Keep your own copy of writing that matters to you.

To the fullest extent the law allows, Inkwell and its maker aren't liable for any indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the service.

7.Changes

The service will grow and change, and occasionally these terms will too. If we make a meaningful change, we'll update the date at the top of this page. Continuing to use Inkwell after a change means you accept the new terms.

8.Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India, and any disputes will be handled by the courts there.
